Circulation

Circulation in the body refers to the system that transports blood, oxygen and nutrients throughout the body to support tissue function, metabolism and waste removal. The main components of the circulatory system are the heart, blood vessels and blood. The heart acts as a pump that sends oxygen-rich blood out into the arteries, while the blood vessels, including arteries, veins and capillaries, distribute the blood throughout the body.

The arteries carry oxygen-rich blood from the heart to tissues and organs, while the veins return oxygen-poor blood back to the heart for oxygenation. The capillaries, small blood vessels, facilitate the exchange of nutrients and oxygen between the blood and cells. Effective circulation is essential for survival and maintaining the body's homeostasis, and it plays a key role in supporting all physiological processes. Factors such as exercise, healthy diet and general lifestyle can affect the quality of circulation and thus affect the overall health of the body.
