  • One of the world's strongest antioxidants
  • Is an adaptogenic mushroom
Description

Chaga is known for its immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory properties and is believed to be one of the strongest antioxidants in the world. Antioxidants are important for counteracting free radical damage and thus protecting the body's cells from oxidative stress. Chaga is also rich in various bitter substances, has a natural content of beta-glucans, and is classified as an adaptogen. An adaptogen can promote a balancing effect on various systems in the body, such as the immune system, the nervous system and the cardiovascular system.

Did you know that

  • Chaga is often referred to as the black gold and has been prized by Indians and other indigenous peoples across the northern hemisphere for thousands of years.
  • Chaga is known to be one of the strongest antioxidants in the world.
  • Chaga's DNA is 30% more similar to human DNA than the DNA of other plants.
  • Chaga can help regulate the production of cytokines, and supports the immune system by helping cells communicate with each other.

Contains antioxidants and beta-glucans

In addition to the antioxidants found in chaga, beta-glucans are also substances that affect our immune system. Chaga has a natural content of beta-glucans. Beta-glucans are polysaccharides produced by, and found in the cell walls of, various bacteria, yeasts, fungi and plants. Depending on their structure and purity, they can either activate the immune system or provoke allergic reactions. Because fungi and yeasts have been threats to animal and human health for millions of years, the non-specific immune system has learned to recognize beta-glucans from these and initiate an immune response to fight them. You could say that beta-glucans teach the immune system to react correctly, a kind of personal trainer that helps the body's immune system to fight various pathogenic microorganisms.
