Description

The product consists of the patented and clinically documented iron compound Ferrochel®, which is absorbed and utilized very well in the body compared to traditional low-dose iron supplements. This is because the iron atom is bound to two amino acids that form a dipeptide. A dipeptide is absorbed in the body via the active transport system for amino acids. For this to work as intended, it is crucial that the dipeptide has the right stability so that the iron atom is released after passing through the intestinal wall and that it is not too large. Albion Laboratories Inc. is one of the few manufacturers that can provide clinical scientific evidence that their amino acid chelates actually work as described above. SHIFT AminoIron is therefore a highly bioavailable and gentle iron supplement.

How iron works

Iron is part of the hemoglobin in the red blood cells and the myoglobin in the muscles, and contributes to the transport of oxygen around the body. Iron also contributes to the formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, to normal cognitive function, to energy metabolism, to the normal function of the immune system, to reducing tiredness and fatigue and it is necessary for cell division processes.

Symptoms of iron deficiency

Iron deficiency causes fairly general symptoms such as tiredness, weakness, fatigue, pale skin and pale mucous membranes.

Who may have a need for iron supplements

In general, the following groups may need iron supplements: Women with heavy menstruation, pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as women who eat little, for example due to dieting, eating disorders or old age. Men and women who are blood donors also usually need iron supplements. Children may also need extra iron in the period after breastfeeding has ceased and up to the age of three.
