What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol, and is a substance belonging to the group of cannabinoids that in its natural form comes from industrially grown hemp (cannabis sativa). SHIFT™ CBD Magnesium oil is the raw material synthetic, according to the Cosmetics Regulation. The synthetic CBD used has an identical chemical composition to trans-cannabidiolfound naturally in the hemp plant.

CBD has nothing to do with THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the substance found naturally in hemp that can cause intoxication.

What does CBD do?

CBD interacts with a complex cell-signaling system that we have in the body, called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). It is a regulatory system linked to the major organs, immune and nervous systems and areas of the brain that plays a role in almost all primary physiological functions, and includes processes such as appetite and digestion, metabolism, inflammatory responses, mood, sleep and much more. It is described that the main task of the endocannabinoid system is to maintain homeostasis in the body - a kind of internal stability or balance related to the various bodily systems. The endocannabinoid system has receptors throughout the body, including in skin cells and nerve fibers. CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system, affecting its regulation and activity. How this process takes place is still somewhat uncertain among researchers. The distribution of cannabinoid receptors in the skin and nerve fibres means that CBD can be applied to the skin and may have a localized effect, and a possible systemic effect on the endocannabinoid system in the body.

What is the difference between synthetic CBD and non-synthetic/natural CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a substance that occurs naturally in the hemp plant (cannabis sativa) and especially in the flowers. An extract of this plant part will contain many different natural cannabinoids, including cannabidiol (CBD), and small amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Often the THC is removed from the extracts, leaving only the CBD compounds.

Synthetic CBD is chemically produced CBD, and contains only CBD. Synthetic CBD has an identical chemical composition to trans-cannabidiolfound naturally in the hemp plant, and can therefore have the same effect.

Why is synthetic CBD used in SHIFT CBD Magnesium oil?

In the EU and Norway, natural CBD is still classified as Novel Food. In addition, natural extracts of Cannabis sativa are currently regulated by the Narcotics Regulation. This means that it is not allowed to use natural extracts of Cannabis sativa with CBD in cosmetics, dietary supplements or food. However, synthetic CBD can be used in cosmetics, and SHIFT CBD Magnesium Oil is a cosmetic product.

Can you get high on CBD?

No.CBD should not be confused with TCH even though they come from the same plant species. Industrially grown Cannabis sativa is cultivated for its CBD content and contains very little THC, unlike in the marijuana plant. CBD has absolutely no intoxicating effect whether it comes from a natural or synthetic source.

What regulations are SHIFT CBD Magnesium oil regulated by?
Cosmetics regulations.
What is the magnesium raw material in SHIFT CBD Magnesium Oil?
The magnesium raw material in SHIFT™ CBD Magnesium oil is extracted from a prehistoric seawater (Zechstein Seabed), preserved deep in the earth for 250 million years. The raw material is natural, pure and rich in magnesium chloride. This magnesium-rich water feels oil-like due to its high magnesium content. Magnesium applied to the skin should lead to effective absorption of magnesium into the cells. Magnesium contributes to a number of processes in the body and is known to reduce cramps and spasms and relieve tired muscles when applied to the skin.
