Description
Magnesium Glycinate
SHIFT™ Magnesium Glycinate contains Chelamax® Magnesium – a highly bioavailable chelated magnesium bisglycinate. In this form, magnesium is bound to two molecules of the amino acid glycine, forming a stable chelate. This structure helps protect the magnesium from reacting with other compounds in the digestive tract and allows it to remain soluble throughout the gastrointestinal tract.
When magnesium bisglycinate reaches the small intestine, the complex can be effectively absorbed through the intestinal wall. Studies suggest that amino acid chelates can utilize the body's amino acid and peptide transport systems, which can contribute to the efficient absorption of magnesium. The high stability of the chelate also helps to reduce the amount of magnesium that binds to other substances in the intestine, making more available for absorption.
The formulation is additionally enriched with pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P), the biologically active form of vitamin B6, which contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal functioning of the nervous system and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
The result is a magnesium supplement with high bioavailability and good tolerance. Magnesium bisglycinate is known to be gentle on the stomach and generally poses less risk of stomach discomfort than many other forms of magnesium.

Did you know that?
- Magnesium is an essential mineral that plays a crucial role in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body.
- The body cannot produce magnesium itself, and therefore depends on getting it through diet or, if necessary, via supplements.
- During pregnancy, the body's need for magnesium increases.
- Magnesium is necessary for the body to produce ATP – the molecule that serves as the cells' main source of energy.
- The brain contains some of the body's highest concentrations of magnesium. The mineral is important for normal nerve function and plays a role in several processes related to sleep and relaxation.
